Action Stations – Dance

At school we have been learning dance for four weeks as part of our action station.

We looked at line dancing and folk dancing. In line dancing we did the cupid shuffle, we learned how to do the nut bush and made our own line dance. In folk dance we learnt the heel ‘n’ toe polka.

 

I learnt a new  dance called the heel ‘n’ toe polka. I really enjoyed making my own line dance with my friends. The name of the song was Texas hold em. I found it difficult to work with people that I didn’t really know.

 

The RISE value I showed was success. I showed this by creating my own line dance.

Debate

On Monday the 8th of April I did my debate with Evie,Maia and Aaliyah was also meant to speak but due to difficulty she didn’t. The topic for our debate was why the government should keep supplying free school lunches. On the negative side of the debate we had Zita, Anika and Eliza. I personally think we all did an amazing job with our debate. I think that my group did good with all of our research and how we helped each other with our paragraphs. I think that I did really well with projecting the voice when I spoke. I think that next time I could do better with being more confident. 

Duolingo

Today for Mahi-a-Tahi I did Duolingo and I’m learning French I have learnt how to   recognize words that are in French. I have also learnt how to say water/eau and food/nourriture

 

Persuasive Writing

At the moment in literacy we have been working on persuasive writing. If think i did good with persuasive writing because I haven’t really done any persuasive writing before. I think that next time I could do better on making it more persuasive because I think that I had put enough information in I just needed to make it more persuasive.

Are you a part of a dance group? Or do you just like dancing in your free time? Either way dancing is amazing.

Dancing is the best sport there is and YES it is a sport. One reason why dance is the best sport is because it improves the condition of your heart and lungs, Increases muscular strength, endurance and motor fitness.Those are the physical benefits and here are some mental benefits; promotes confidence, self esteem, personal expression and flexibility of the body and mind. 

Did you know behind the scenes, dancers undergo extremely thorough and careful training, discipline, and dedication to perfect their craft. Many dancers dedicate their time and life to be an incredible dancer. Most dancers around the age of 10-13 realize that they want to put all of their training into action and pursue a career in dance at a school.
