Passion Project – Football

Today for passions I’m playing football with Stella,Evie and Kelsi.

Goals: Practice clean and straight passes, We will complete this by doing a passing game; Football 4 square, where you have to juggle the ball with your feet and the ball can’t touch the ground. My other goal is to get all 5 goals in with each of us having a turn in goalie. Then we will play a game of football.

By the end of passion project time today I hope to have decently good shooting skills. 

I am using our school values of

-Resilience – Kept on trying.                                                                                                                                       – Integrity – I completed this with no teacher supervision.                                                                          – Success – That I did it on my own.                                                                                                                         – Empathy – Worked with othersz to achieve this goal.

Timelines

Today in maths we have been doing some elapsed timeline activities. We had to do 8 timelines for each activity.

The context for our last activity was: Mr Redmond arrives home at 4:50pm. He left work 40 minutes ago. What time did Mr Redmond get off work?

To work this out I did my timeline counting in 10min intervals. I found this activity challenging.

Writing Prompt

Today for spelling and grammar we got given the task of writing a 300 word story. The assigned prompt for this story was “The explosion was enormous.” This is my story using the prompt.

Scared for life as I think back to the day where everything went wrong. People were knocked off their feet with shock as the explosion went off. “BANG” sparks of red, orange and green flew from building to building as they lit on fire. People screaming, Yelling and running for their lives.

There I was trapped in the science lab. Smoke and screaming surrounded me. I needed to find a way out. I blinked a couple of times, calmed myself down, thought where I was and how I can get out. A little while later I found myself rushing out of the city just like every other person. I turned on the radio just in time “Breaking News!” “Enormous explosion goes off in the central city lab. Leaves everyone in shock. The whole town has been evacuated for safety”

 

1 month later….

Our once beautiful,breathtaking city. Now for all I knew it was unrecognisable. buildings smashed, Cars crashed, People scattered. The streets were empty. 

 

Periodic Table Tile – Magnesium

 

This year we are having a whole school science fair. As part of this science fair our class is doing the periodic table. For this project we have all been assigned an element from the periodic table. My element is Magnesium. For my tile I have put the Greece flag as the background because Magnesium was originally discovered in Greece. I have put blueberry’s on it because blueberries have magnesium in them.

Action Station – Poi & Rakau

Poi and Rakau

This term for action stations I was doing Poi and Rakau in Ata Hapara. Over the past 2-3 weeks we have been learning how to make Poi’s. I have learnt all the steps of how to make a Poi. I enjoyed Poi and Rakau this term because I got to make my poi with my friends and since some of them had made poi’s before they knew the steps so they helped us if we needed help. Although I enjoyed my experience with Poi and Rakau I do wish that we had also done some Rakau. But overall I enjoyed my experience.
